This Jarde oboe SN P70 was likely made in the 1970s. It is a top-of-the-line professional oboe of excellent quality. It is made from quality materials; grenadilla wood with heavily silver-plated keywork. It features a full conservatory mechanism, including left F, and F-resonance keys.
Jarde was a competitor to Loree, Laubin, and Rigoutat, and can be considered on par with these brands in terms of build quality. The sound of this Jarde oboe is a little bit lighter and more sprightly compared to Lorees of the period, but smoother and darker than a Rigoutat. It is a very responsive, free-blowing and reed-friendly instrument.
This oboe has been recently overhauled and is in perfect working order. All pads, corks, bumpers, and springs are new/barely used. The only signs of use are a few light scratches/scuffs in the wood. There are NO CRACKS.
